NCLEX FAIL: Don't Make This MISTAKE!

Показать описание
NCLEX Fail: The NCLEX exam is the licensing exam that nurse graduates must pass in order to practice legally as a nurse in the U.S.

There is one mistake that you have to avoid if you want to increase your chances of passing NCLEX.

It doesn’t matter if you are taking the current NCLEX format or the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) format, because the mistake I’m talking about in this video applies to both formats.

Happy 2023! For those who are taking the NCLEX this year have a strong faith in yourself and your nursing knowledge! When I took it back in 2020 I had the mindset of "I'm going to take the max amount questions and I'm going to answer all of them with the nursing knowledge I have". 130 questions later and passed it!! Keep calm throughout, take a break in between to refocus, and NEVER second guess yourself. Even with this new test, Y'ALL CAN DO THIS!!

Anybody in school, y’all PLEASE listen to her!!! I took it and my test anxiety was so through the roof. I didn’t even get through all the questions in 5 hours and that’s not because it shut off. I just didn’t finish, because I froze on questions for minutes at a time trying to analyze how I was doing with each one. I went home and cried my eyes out, because I was so sure I failed. But by the grace of God I passed! If I could do it over again, I would follow her advice and simply answer the questions instead of doing these mental gymnastics and keeping a score that probably wasn’t even accurate. I’ve been practicing as an RN for three months now and the relief of having this test behind you is so satisfying as I get to learn myself as a nurse. This test does not define your ability, but it is important so just do your best! And if you don’t pass the first time, no shame just try again and you’ll still be an awesome nurse 😊

I passed the first time this past October! It gave me all 145 questions. While I was taking the test, it was difficult to gauge whether the questions were hard or easy. They all felt challenging in their own way and made me think. I started getting a little nervous when I passed question 75 and it didn't shut off, as most people do. I found what helped me focus on the rest of the test was turning off the question counter. There's a little drop-down tab above the question number that you can click if you want to hide it. You can do the same with the time if that stresses you out but the time didn't really bother me. I feel like what helped me pass was not getting discouraged and giving up once I went past 75. I treated every question like a make or break question and didn't take any for granted. I left the exam feeling so/so. I didn't feel like I failed but I wasn't sure if I passed. I did the PVT as soon as I got the NCLEX confirmation email 20 minutes later and got the good pop-up.

Happy New Year Sarah! 🥳Thanks for this video as you are 100% right! I've failed the NCLEX a few times and will not give up. I'm determined to pass, as I'm passionate about being the best and safest nurse I can be. In 2023, I can, I will and I must pass the NCLEX. I've faith with God's Grace I most certainly will be a licensed RN this year. 🙏

I passed my RN boards on December 20th, I was frustrated with the hard level of questions I was getting. The computer shut down at 169 questions with my 5 hours exhausted

Uworld told me I had a low pass rate. I took the test for the first time and it stopped at 75 questions. One of the questions was a repeat question, but it was rephrased. Same Answer. I was 95% sure it correct. I choose the same answer for both questions. I thought I failed. Turns out I passed.

Sara, thank you. I was one of those people that was uncertain about if I passed or not when the computer shut down at 165 questions or so. I passed! This was January, 2019. Like you, I tried to focus on the question at hand. I did notice that I kept getting more questions on birth and mother baby, which was not my strong suit. I paid particular attention to those questions because I realized that I needed to pass that category. At 62, I am now studying for the Family Nurse Practitioner, and I still go over your videos for review. Thanks for being there throughout my nursing program and onto graduate school. You are an educational force of inspiration and knowledge!

The strategy I used to pass my NCLEX was this:
- Take every question as it's own thing. Don't "read" into it.
- I used lots of practice questions (from Kaplan, which my school used, and UWorld). So, I familiarized myself with the types of high-level questions I'd be asked. That way, I knew if I was ok.
- I'd pause after 3 or 4 questions to breathe, roll my head and neck, and close my eyes. This would help me stay calm as well as take things at a good pace and be alert.

The NCLEX is hard. But, I was able to pass in 75 questions. It's only because I didn't try to overthink the exam and I knew the basics.

First off I passed my NCLEX with 75 questions!!!! But make no mistake about it I left the testing center thinking what the hell just happen, Seriously that test could have been written in Arabic. Most of the questions were based on stuff I had never studied and many of them made absolutely no sense at all. There was no hard or no easy questions. Hell 70% of the questions made ABSOLUTELY NO DAMN SENSE. But I pushed through carefully and answered to the best of my ability. All I can say is that after months of studying arduously NCLEX was able to determine that I knew my stuff. I don't know how they know but NCLEX has mastered the tricky tricky phenomenon of presenting you with absolute foreign subject matter (remember NCLEX does not test memory!!!!) and still be able to determine your knowledge of the subject matter!!!! Kudos to them .Remember Study super super hard and trust that the test, albeit the most alien test you will ever take PERIOD that them tricky tricky tricky test preparers are keen to something strange and weird but ultimately ACCURATE!!! Good luck!!!

Thank you Sara, i passed my nclex, your video helps me a lot during my reviews, if i don’t understand the topic i watch your videos repeatedly. My exam stopped at 82, and i felt like i passed or not. But yeah i was answering most questions smiling believing i got it coz i study hard. When i got out of the testing center i told my husband yeah im done and i am happy and thought that i passed with still doubts that i did not make it. I studied for 4mos. I studied very very hard. Work hard and success will follow.

Everyone in my class (years ago) came out of that test thinking we failed miserably. When I told the proctor I failed, he said everyone who passes thinks that. I told him no, that I failed MISERABLY! We all passed except the one guy who was sure he passed 😅
This video is such great advice. Also the trick of being able to sign up immediately after the test us a myth among nursing students. The site will let you sign up to take it again even if you passed so don’t fall for that one! At least that’s how it used to be. Study hard and knock it out!
