Our space program is seriously under funded.

Also let's not forget space exploration is what led to technologies like GPS, life saving MRI, cordless power tools, freeze-dried food, and memory foams.

Movie studios spend billions on making movies that have no significant benefit to humanity other than entertainment. Yet, we have no problem with spending money on them.

Yet, we frown on spending for space exploration without realising how much it has contributed to our livelihoods.

There is also the fact that, in learning more about space... What it takes to traverse it, to live on other planets, to survive beyond out atmosphere.... can teach us better ways to nurture our own planet.

Next time who says it, simply asked them what health issues are being resolved through funding wars and a huge chunk of Federal budget for military. I can't comprehend how spending billions or trillions on weapons is gonna help fight climate change? Please enlighten if anyone know?

I donate to the Planetary Society. I always thought it would be cool if humanity came together as a whole, throughout the World, to make our purpose on this planet, to explore other planets with the eventual goal of becoming a multiplanetary species... There's too much corruption for that though and we can't even be guardians of planet Earth, much less our Galaxy. Looking at what's becoming of our species is deeply depressing, but, looking up to the heavens still gives me hope.

Space will probably be an important new frontier in the coming decades so it’s important we get an early foothold in it ahead of other countries like China.

At the highest wasn't nasa's budget only like 4 percent of the US budget

Not just that, many of the problems that need to be solve related to living "off-world' can be applied to solving problems here on earth. As an example, think about how much water is used when you take a shower, flush the toilet and do laundery ? In-situ resource utilization does not just apply to living off-world, it applies to our "home-world" as well. 🙂

We are behind schedules by the way leaders manage Earth we are suppose to be more organize and progressive now while venturing space exploration. Its still messy here on Earth while we have all this tech and AI

The human race is growing exponentially and Earth's resources are unable to keep up with that growth. We need to explore space for us to survive as a species.

0.5 percent is higher then the gdp of most countries, even if, it could save thousands of lifes, if put into literly anything else, but now we know what the moons like...m
