Actually the Golan is full of ancient Jewish archeological sites like Gamla. The Druze in the Golan enjoy peace today I hope the entire Middle East will enjoy such peace one day as well.

How is this a clash with the older generation? This journalist seems to be saying things without thinking.

Fascinating, she (as with the Golan Druze) has her land, but not her State. How odd it must be to look down the valley and perhaps see the house of an Israeli Druze who might be in the Israeli Army. The Druze seem to have a simple rule, loyalty to the State/Country they are from, but when the control of their land changes, they do not re-align to the new State, and why should they? It is not their fault that the Golan Heights were taken in 1967.

Feel Syrian? Be thankful that now you're part of Israel. If would be persecuted if you were part of Syria, probably slaughtered by any faction in the conflict. You work, have rights, a family, a national insurance, social and political stability, respect for your religion and traditions. Watch the reality and be humble. Someone is guaranteeing the safety and the future of your family while you are morally spitting on him.

The young Druz are going to decide how much of their youth is going to be spent on their parents apparent delusion that Israel is going to relinquish Golan back to Syria. I hope they chose peace, acceptance, and prosperity that Israel contains. Golan has and will be Israel's and in ancient Israel, it is Jewish strategic territory.

If you don't like living in Israel, you can always move to Syria. Since you consider yourself Syrian, this makes perfect sense. Good luck.

Majdal Shams is a town in Syrian Golan Heights, occupied by Israel. It is not North Israel.

I don't see why these two journalists find this "great".
This young woman enjoys all the benefits that Israel has to offer and still declares herself "Syrian".
It's a little bit too "easy" to declare yourself "Syrian" when you live in Israel. She should live in Syria for a few years and I think she would then start dreaming about being Israeli.

Sadly, today in 2024, Hezbollah sent rockets to the Druze. It's not a very welcoming gesture from Lebanon. - j q t -

If she was in Syria, it’s likely that she would have had to flee.
