This is actually rare, a good woo-free explanation of the double slit experiment. Kudos!
So many people, even physicists, are spreading the "Deepak Chopra interpretation" of quantum physics, talking about how the attention of a consciousness collapses the wave function...

Regarding where how the bullet hole was in the chair from the point of manufacture to the point where Mr. Battinson's reverse gun pulled it out, another video essay had a notion, maybe implied by the film (?) that reversing entropy in an object reversed the flow of cause and effect for it. So a bullet traveling back in time causes a backward entropy effect by putting a hole in the forward-moving theater chair's wood. But what the other essay suggests is that the prevailing winds of forward entropy erases that reverse-entropy effect on a forward-moving object.

This is also why reversing Kat's entropy would turn a lethal reverse-bullet wound into something that doesn't just heal, but is erased. When the Protagonist, moving backward in time, is stabbed in the arm by himself moving forward in time, that forward-moving wound fades quickly into non-existence in his backward-moving arm. From his perspective as he moves backward, he notices a few hours before the stabbing that there's a pain in his arm, then a hole in his jacket, which get worse and worse leading up to the point when the stabbing happens. Had the forward-moving version of the protagonist continued to watch his reverse self, he'd have seen the stab-wound soon fade into non-existence. Just as Kat's bullet-wound faded into non-existence. Just as the opera house chair's damage would fade in reverse, until that bullet hole was no longer there. Because the chair's forward-moving entropy, and the forward-moving world around it, would overwhelm the reverse-entropy from reverse the bullet. Anyway, that's the theory. As for the bullet itself, it presumably would continue to be inside the wood, traveling backward, until the tree is reduced to a seed, and then lay there in the ground until reverse-entropy turns it to dust.

Of course, this theory doesn't explain why Kat's wound didn't appear before she was shot, only to disappear when the reverse bullet passed through her in reverse. But perhaps that's just down to the particle/wave observation phenomenon. It happens one way or the other because that's just how it happened. Which is handy plot convenience. Don't try to understand it. Just feel it.

Sator blabs to himself when he performs the pincer movement. The movie handles minor changes to the timeline in different ways. The bullets they catch aren't always the bullets they fire. In one loop Sator sees the hand-off and then does another loop to burn the car. That didn't happen in the first loop. Time is a giant, complicated mobius strip where all paths pass through one point in time which would be the invention of the turnstile.

Quantum erasure experiment: its not a wave, its a wave function in mathematics. The knowledge of the path is the independent variable

Hi, you have a well produced video, I have some feedback as someone who has studied physics:
1) you are correct that most physical laws do not have an arrow of time, however the second law of ther dynamics provides an error of time. The statistics in statistical mechanics are not actually the fundamental laws. They are a way of modeling our knowledge about a system in a manner that agrees with the laws. However the laws are more fundamental.
2) I appreciated your critique of the movie’s annihilation problem with regards to antimatter
3) Your discussion of QM and Wheeler’s delayed choice lacks connection with experimental conclusions. Yes it can be pointed out that quantum mechanics is far from being fully explained at this point. nevertheless it has been shown that retro causality is an illusion. quantum mechanics makes statements about averages and probabilities of repeating experiments many times. in essence, it is nearly impossible to explain a specific single event using the current formulation of quantum mechanics, hence why most physicists do not even attempt to do so.
4) The historical background on the Dirac equation and Feynman diagrams was well done
5) finally, while I will admit my bias in that I do not like the many universe interpretation of quantum mechanics, I appreciated the way you presented it in an honest fashion.

“Robert Batmanson” lmfao Snuck that joke in there… I laughed pretty hard. 😂

The best example about this (in my opinion) is the building in the end fight which they explode the top in forward time direction and the bottom half in the back time direction. So when has it been built just hapf with the rest building on the ground? 🤔😅

Thank god! This type of explanation I was looking for.

Dan Simmons, in his sci-fi Novel series Hyperion Cantos, already mentioned things like anti-entropy, things travelling back in time, etc. I think Nolan may be aware of his Novels.

Great video, I liked the movie did hint at particle physics and just blew up what happens at a quantum level to a much larger aspect.

How can we reconcile the conservation of mass/energy when two copies of the same person exist in the same time?

the inconsistencies don't end there, to me it's weird that a person can be shot from a bullet that is in a wall traveling backwards towards the gun, well what if the person that is in the path of the bullet is wearing Kevlar and the bullet stops, the relationship between cause and effect can't really be maintained in this movie but they ignore a lot in order to sell it, also what if you would be a reversed person and use your weapon to remove the bullets from a person that is dead, as we see when a bullet get's removed from a medium and goes back into the gun the medium gets restored, does that mean that the person that is shot would be brought back to life? that's one more thing that is not clarified and kind of paradoxical

then how would you explain stephen hawking saying time travel to the past cannot exist because you cannot have a copy of yourself at the same time since it breaks the rule of mass cant be created or destroyed? how can you say that this is completely accurate

Enjoyed this! It is a weird ass film.

With your physics and philosophy background, what are your thoughts on spacex and Musk's plans to colonize mars? What (if any} are the big ethical problems you have with it, eg maybe only accessible to rich privileged?

hey there :) really didnt expect you to have worked as a physics teacher! that was a pleasant suprise
maybe a little suggestion
i really really like how you try to one-take all your audio (i despise overly cut ones)
but maybe you could do a compromise between one-take and the overly extensive cutting
cuz around 15:50 you can hear how you have some minor issues talking
so you could cut around there and start anew
its just my opinion and maybe you have some reasons you want to stay it that way :)

other than that it was really nice to get to know some experts opinion on this movie
i especially loved the start
"i have seen a lot of explanation videos around tenet, and most of them are awesome"
it just stresses your positive energy
keep it up!

Physics = physical. Time is not physical. Time is a concept.
