About Splinter Cell Blacklist
The United States has a military presence in two thirds of countries around the world. A group of 12 have had enough and initiate a terror ultimatum called the Blacklist - a deadly countdown of escalating terrorist attacks on U.S. interests. Sam Fisher is the leader of the newly formed 4th Echelon unit: a clandestine unit that answers solely to the President of the United States. Sam and his team must hunt down these terrorists by any means necessary, and stop the Blacklist countdown before it reaches zero.

Splinter Cell Blacklist will be available for Microsoft's Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and PC.

Yeah sorry for writing a bit confusing.

Night Vision goggles detect and translate IR light, which is invisible to the human eye. They also have a lamp that emits that light, so that the user can see in total darkness.

An effect of using IR is that NV goggles can get "whiteouts" from other sources of light, since all fires and most normal bulbs emits a high amount of IR light compared to what the goggles are designed to detect.

Kinda like a humidity measuring device getting sprayed with water

2 reasons:
1: Aesthetic design choice.
2: Two are lenses for the night-vision camera (two so Sam gets a good depth perception), the third is actually a light, emitting light in a frequency that the human eye doesn't detect, but that the goggles then translates into light visible to the human eye. Usually, infrared is the preferred spectrum used in night vision goggles, which is translated to green since the human eye can recognize more shades of green than any other color :)

So happy for Spys vs Mercs returning! One of the most unique and most fun multiplayer modes and the last one cut it out for no reason... this game's singleplayer looks great and multiplayer looks great so I can't wait for it!

as long as there is a minimal amount of reflection from any surfaces getting lit up, NO shadows are black. Shadows on any surface darkens it, but only turns black if there is only one lightsource and no reflective surfaces around. (With reflective, i mean giving off light, like wood, stone and fabric, and not reflective like mirrors^_^)

Really glad to see this stealth aspect..hopefully the game has many more such moments, like full stealth missions.

Oh boy!! THIS is what made me fell in love with the Splinter Cell series with the first three games! Thanks Ubisoft! More of this please and you have my fullest attention!

Options are great, but they're obviously focusing on the action vs. stealth action, which is super important.

Finally. We need more people like you who just enjoy games instead of whining about how they're "ruining it" from previous versions.

I don't know about that, they didn't release much details about that mode. But from the Glimpse we got from Thermal Vision, it is pratically night vision, only with highlighted enemies.

I'm a classic splinter cell fan, and I'm psyched about this game.

because in order to run the takedown animation properly, the enemy has to be on that exact spot where he slides to. if he didn't warp, you'd probably see Sam clipping through the enemy while both of their animations were playing.

Ummm Closer Than Ever is the way Sam changes posture before getting a kill/knockout.
It's nothing new (been around since Chaos Theory), but still nice to see it.

I remember the stealth score. I loved that! Hope they keep it in Blacklist. I still remember the first time I got a 100% stealth score, I was so friggin happy :D

the original goggles worked off of infrared nightvision. those lights would have been invisible to the naked eye, though if you were looking at him through a camera, they would be very visible. probably not a good explanation for the "sonar" goggles though

I really hope they'll bring back the stealth score system. Getting a 100% Stealth Score was just so satisfying and also properly challenging for the pro stealth gamers. Moar stealth plz! xD

Track, Targeted, Takedown! TTT! I think this might be the best of splinter Cell series game.

If Blacklist has more stealth levels than action-styled gameplay than the first demo, I think I'll forgive Ubisoft about Ironside's voice. Really. This looks SPECTACULAR, I mean, it's Chaos Theory ... but NEXT GEN! :D

0:51 - Why enemy slides forward on this scene? Do not do more smoothly?

Sneaking up on a guard from behind while being able to control how fast you moved. Then you would either put your hand on your knife to get ready to strike.
