One of the nicest golfers and human beings you can meet. Watched him many years ago in the PGA at Wentworth in the Pro-Celebrity and was more than happy to talk to the crowd especially the youngsters.
Played N Hants a few times never saw him there but met plenty of members who told you what a great person he was.

Just want to say I'm a big fan of Justin Rose. Absolute class act. The first time I attended a PGA Tour event was at Callaway Gardens when I was young (5 or 6 years old). I remember David Duvall in his prime ignoring me and it always bothered me (I understand as an adult he was focused and trying to win a tournament)

I didn't attend another tournament round until the final round of the tour championship in 2018 when I was in college.

JR was having a rough day at the turn and had basically fallen out of contention for the tournament and was grinding to hang on to the Fed Ex Cup. I was standing on the rope line between 9 and 10 when he walked by. I said his name and offered a fist bump and he nodded and obliged.

He could have easily been annoyed with himself for the start to the day or to focused on grinding out the rest of the round to acknowledge me but he didn't.

The contrast of those two experiences really made me a huge fan.

A pleasure to watch JR at North Hants. The 2nd and 3rd holes realignment was back in 2003/2004 - roughly - 20 years ago.! The money North Hants received to provide road access to a new housing estate helped fund the lovely clubhouse. Hats off to the green keeping staff presenting the course in such tiptop condition. The tees mowed, the bunkers raked and fairways trimmed perfectly. Interestingly, since my time as a member in 2006-9 the additional fairway bunkers and the thinning of the trees have enhanced the course immensely.

Thanks for this Rick. Brings back fond memories of spending a beautifrul spring afternoon I spent with Justin a couple years ago. The man is pure class and so humble. Pretty good golfer too. So much to admire. Most are too young to remember his hole out in 1998 at Birkdale, he turned professional at 17 and proceeded to miss his first 21 cuts in a row. I'm so glad he persevered.

This is my favourite kind of golf, both to watch on screen and on the golf course myself : 2 great golfers having fun on the course without any unnecessary goofing around and playing a serious, great round. And a 7 under par from Justin Rose...that's just "Wow!!!"😃

Although, I admit, I am currently also having a lot of fun teaming up with my 5 year old daughter whenever possible and playing our private "serious" 9 hole round: with 1 golf ball and always taking turns hitting, with my daughter playing the greens all by herself. Just the day before yesterday we broke our personal record : better than +30 for the first time and then a +26 straight away.😉
