my s6 active (which I'm using now) was on the back of my dad's car and fell off down the interstate and the screen doesn't have a scratch and it still works fine.

I am still using mine in 2018, and I've kept it in pristine condition without ever using a case just by being careful. I wouldn't be surprised if I can get it to last another 4 years.
