Several U.S. intelligence leaders will testify in Congress this week as the Trump administration confronts a major scandal concerning leaked military plans.

On Monday, the White House confirmed to The National News Desk that U.S. defense leaders had inadvertently added The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg to a group chat on the encrypted messaging app Signal. That chat reportedly included members named “JD Vance,” “Pete Hegseth” and “Michael Waltz” and included discussions of plans to attack the Houthi terrorist group.

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday is scheduled for a prearranged hearing with the nation’s top intelligence leaders including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and FBI Director Kash Patel. While that hearing normally focuses on foreign adversaries, its likely Democrats will press the witnesses on the leak.
