I got 70% PTSD filed an appeal and finally got 100%PTSD P&T. I saw two psychologists and a psychiatrist over a period of about two years to get it all done.

I think it's great that you touched on the fact that alot of us don't want to leave and don't want to associate with people.
I'm a 100% for PTSD and my wife just applied for my P&T and they want me to see another psych. Evaluation. Is this common? already

We have to go through it all again after living through it, explaining it while in-service, out of service to multiple MH Specialists? It's not easy to explain and throws me back to the place which can take time to get out of again.

The VA will just deny your claim....period... no matter what. I feel that most of the VA reps for disabled vets, aren't vets themselves.

What you just said just happened to me. The examiner did not go over my file, she said her system was down. So she just asked a few questions, not many. I am waiting to see if she did not ask enough questions, we did not cover half of my symptoms, but we covered many stressors so to speak.

I really wish they would just review my medical records because in that exam there's going to be emotional triggers

People do decades of service, get roughed up, document issues over the years and yet their compensation for life comes down to a C&P examiner with an inclination to deny and who may be a jerk or having a bad day. Sounds about right

My PTSD C&P doctor asked me how much money I made at my job. The stressor he was working with could not be proven (classified). I had another stressor (Assault). I asked him if he could read it. He refused. He wasted 45 minutes trying to authenticate the stressor. I could tell these exams were his sole source of income. I don't expect anything good to come from it.

If you’re trying to get help and are working they’ll be sympathetic otherwise they’ll think you’re lazy in my opinion

Is it ok to ask the examiner if they have reviewed the medical records?

What do I do if I "failed" the exam and the examiner didn't qualify me as having PTSD!

PTSD is on my Service Medical record...at 2AM One morning aboard an Aircraft Carrier I was Assaulted with a Wrench by an unknown Assailant, had 4 stitches and have a 4 inch Scar on my right cheek and it was documented on my record.. i.have yet to be contacted for a CP Exam along with other different Medical issues (5) also submitted in 2019..
Any idea what VA would consider a Rating on the PTSD, Scar, and Assault?

How can I get the VA to schedule my C&P exam? What are the steps involved?

There is no PTSD C&P exam .They dont design C&P exams for specific mental illness's. If you have to prep for a mental illness exam then you dont have one.

You cannot be a real VA law firm telling veterans they have to go to a C&P exam. A veteran has every right to submit a private DBQ from their own doctor. The DBQ is what’s required, not the C&P exam. That private DBQ has to be held with the same credibility as a VA C&P exam by law and a veterans claim cannot be denied for not attending the C&P when a private doctor DBQ was submitted. I didn’t go to a single VA scheduled C&P exam and I’m rated at 100%.

Damn! Initials don't do it, folks. What is "C & P, MST, VSO, DBQ" and all the other initials?

Dont diagnose yourself with PTSD. Put your symptoms on the claim and let the VA diagnose you.
