Make sure your both laptops are connected to same wifi .

STEP 1 : Download Minecraft and make sure both pc had the same version of minecraft. Reason: Different version of minecraft will not work for lan multiplayer

STEP 2 : Enter minecraft, PC 1 try to create a world, Then go to options and make sure to enable multiplayer.

STEP 3 : PC 2 check on the multiplayer and refresh. Enjoy!

Noted : You must connect on the same wifi to make sure this will work.
