Показать описание
Aswan, the white and blue city, located at the mouth of the first cataract, where the last African fury of the river breaks on the rocks, is the symbol of the passage from nature to civilization. Phileas, south of Aswan, was an ancient Egyptian island, submerged in the 1970s by the rising level of the lake held back by the old Aswan Dam following the construction of the high dam. It houses a temple dedicated to Isis, one of the best preserved in ancient Egypt It is one of the major shrines of the goddess in Egypt and the main building of Philae

20 ans que je voyage en Egypte. Cette video est tres bien montee et commentée. Ca change de toutes les horreurs que les gens produisent. Beaucoup de travail, mais le résultat est là. Beau travail

A beautiful and fascinating documentary. It was interesting to see the sensuality the Greeks brought to the carvings of Isis....and the breastfeeding scenes in the Holy of Holies. The 1978 movie of Death on the Nile features the Old Cataract Hotel, and the temple scenes are wonderful.

4:23 Strange geography to talk of border between Nubia and Africa. The whole of Egypt (Kemet or Kama until renamed by the Greeks) and Sudan are in Africa as the map shows clearly. The Nile flows only through Africa.

Why would you want to relocate an important temple like Aswan, move it down the Nile, and cover over 200+ temples for a Dam to be built? Rumor has it that the Temple contained Typhonian scripts that made the upper Nile region of Egypt OLDER than the lower Nile region. I'm sure the "scripts" are somewhere...
