Suite 5 Ritornello:Ariosti Allegro

This is a second upload like the Göttweig Suite 21 Gigue/Ariosti Lesson 6 Giga. In this case the opening movement of Göttweig Suite 5, Ritornello, frames a transposed and elaborated versions of itself which is in Ariosti's Recueil pour la Viol d'Amour as a movement marked Allegro.

In addition to transposing the original Ritornello down a tone (there are a number of places in Göttweig Archive Ms 4806 where the bass part includes a written suggestion to tune down a tone,) the Ariosti version adds divisions in the solo part, extends the cadences, adds extra notes for extra activity to the bass part, and extends the B section with a dominant pedal.

There is one more movement that overlaps between Göttweig Ms 4806 and the Ariosti Recueil pour la Viol d'Amour, a Rondo.
