7 Clear Signs You’re Facing Spiritual Warfare

A Python squeezes its victims’ breath. It doesn’t kill with venom; instead, it encircles its intended prey and tightens its grip until the last bit of air is expelled. The word “breath” in the Bible represents the Holy Spirit and life (Genesis 2v7; John 20v22).

Signs that Python is Squeezing:(Key Points Taken from The Spirit of Python by Jentezen Franklin)
1. Loss of hunger for God. The enemy doesn’t want you to have passion for God.
2. Physically always tired. Spiritual warfare can bring extreme physical fatigue.
3. Attack of lack. Financial problems piling up all at once could be a sign of attack.
4. Struggling prayer life. Weak prayer life makes it easier for the enemy to advance.
5. Super overwhelmed. Most of the spiritual battle takes place in the mind.
6. Old habits making their way back. Old life may begin to knock on the door again, hoping to gain re-entry.
7. Pulling away from the Christian community. When we yield to offense, hurt, and isolation we are walking into the enemy’s trap.

Feeling Under Attack? Do this!
1. Feed yourself on God’s word even when you don’t feel like it.
2. Prioritize the Sabbath once a week. God commands us to rest. It’s not a rest from God; it’s a rest in God.
3. Keep God first in your finances. You don’t push God out of your finances when attacked.
4. Prioritize your prayer. Reset your prayer life by changing where/how you pray and adding fasting.
5. Move from being overwhelmed to overflowing by feeding your mind with spirit-filled books, podcasts, and videos.
6. Strengthen your holy habits when old habits are trying to make their way back.
7. Engage with your small group and church. When you’re in spiritual warfare, don’t skip on the community.
