This song is in 3/4, which is uncommon in pop music, but I don't think anybody notices because this is so well composed and recorded that listeners seem to be drawn into the singer's world - in this case, loneliness and melancholy. For an artist, what a challenge! - How to draw a listener into our hearts and minds? This, imo, is the challenge of creators. Yes, there are folks making hits by using beats or covers, but those people don't seem to prioritize that soul connection; they imo don't seem to be seeking a connection to the soul as you seem to be doing. Congratulations. You've used the rules of music to make something that transcends those rules and becomes food for the human spirit. The hitmakers' songs will be temporary curiosities, but how could anybody abandon music that touches the soul? Anyway, I choose to forget about the hitmakers and appreciate this accomplishment of yours. Thank you.
