I literally just bought a Scottevest today on ebay for my trip to Europe in March 2025. I am travelling solo and have been more than a bit worried about the whole pick pocket thing but this vest is going to ease my mind and I thank you for your honest review. It just reinforces that I have made the right decision in purchasing one. Margaret Australia 😁🇦🇺

Sometimes I envy countries with cold temperature, you can wear jackets everywhere. While living in tropical country, even wearing a thin vest on top of my clothing feels like sauna. But, I recently wear a hooded fleece vest, I added 4 inner pockets, 2 on the chests for phone and powerbank, 2 near waist for other items. I gotta say I don't regret with this idea, I feel free, because when I bring a slingbag it sticks out and most of the time I accidentally hit a wall or person when walking through narrow areas, not to mention it swings back and forth while doing simple movement like bending down to pick something on the ground. I have a good time going out with my vest, but it's hot. Maybe adding some mesh fabric on the back and sides should help reducing the heat.

I just came back from a European river cruise (up the Rhine) and wore my Scott E Vest Featherweight vest on the daily. It was awesome for travel and for crowded ports/cities. I never felt "at risk" of pickpockets because my valuables were tucked away and not in my pants pockets. The added bonus was that it is quite stylish as a layered system (I often wore mine over an Unbound merino hoodie). It doesn't look like a fishing vest or the equivalent of "cargo shorts". I even got a few compliments on it from fellow cruise passengers. This will be part of my travel system going forward.

I generally think most people in vests look silly, myself included. These vests do serve a purpose though. I only use them during check-in and possibly boarding, all the tech gear, and some of the toiletries gets loaded into the vest before I put anything on a scale. I can make my backpack 8-10lbs lighter.

I recently bought a SCOTTeVEST and love it. But I always read through the video description. Wow! Lainey's swing dancing is AMAZING!

I wear a fishing vest. My wife hates it but it’s so convenient and you can even stuff an iPad in the keep net pocket whilst you get your bags weighed. For around £20 for a decent make, it’s great and all my wallets, bags etc are rfid anyway

We bought our ScotteVest at poshmark for $50 depends on the size. It’s a secondhand but slightly used. Me and my hubby loved it because it’s so useful for our travels.

I am on my second featherweight vest and fourth eVest overall. The two things I like about the featherweight is 1) it's lightweight so I don't get too hot or too cold (can layer if too cold) and 2) if it gets dirty, I can wash it in the bathroom sink and hang it up overnight to dry.

I'm a hooded vest person... I'm taking one and adding some inner pockets to it. The water bottle pocket is genius! Since mine has a sinch waist it looks like it's just the puff lol my husband didn't even know I had a water bottle in it! So excited!

Love your videos. I bought a ScotteVest in 2012 for a trip to Europe and I still use it, still looks good. Mine had a pocket for an iPod and one for an 🆔, at the time those pockets had a plastic that eventually cracked. I don’t think they make them like that anymore, it looks like they now use a mesh. But other than that, 12 years later is still going strong, so it’s worth every penny and it still has plenty “pockets”.

Great review. My spouse and I usually end up stressed [read arguing] because of the usual hassle involved going through security but the vest we wear mitigates the stress BECAUSE everything....EVERYTHING goes into the pockets [excluding the obligatory clothes carryon] and that gives us both a degree of security knowing we just drop the vest in the box and grab it when we have made it through security. No more counting each items as we attempt to move on after the scanning. The vest is worth the in"vest"ment. Ignore the "dork factor": you're traveling. You are literally a "tourist." And being seen as one is the LAST thing you should be concerned about.

Fun video to watch with thoughtful points. I'll need to evaluate it again. When I wear a vest because I feel a chill, I feel as if something is missing - the arms, lol. But to buy their jacket is almost $300. And Scottevest is too expensive and 'disingenuous' because a pen pocket isn't a 'pocket' - I don't carry a pen, anyway. But pockets are handy, so I've been looking into knockoffs or adding pockets to another product. Madrid is beautiful! Thanks, you guys.

Youz guyz are too much! Thanks for the humor infused review. I’ve thought about getting one of these vests, but can’t seem to get off the fence and do it. Ni modo. I like having a lot of pockets, but I have to be really consistent about what I put in which pocket or I go thru that whole “feeling around for whatever I’m looking for, unzip a pocket, nope, not there, zip it up, repeat ad nauseam” process. Again, thanks for your take on it and the fun!

Helpful video, I used a vest during the camino and when traveling, to keep my passport and wallet safe, knowing it was always secure and in the same place. The blue vest in the link looks good.

Man, I’m so glad I have a pair of iPod pros and got rid of the cords quite a while back! I’m getting the Scotty vest with the magnetic removable sleeves. The vest that I’m getting even though it has sleeves and it’s technically a coat has a vented back. It’s for tropical climate basically. I’m going to be flying a lot of south east Asian countries. I’m going to cheat them out of every dime that I can when it comes to baggage fees. Cheap Charley here! Thanks for the great review
