World Cup 2022: John Stones hails 'terrific' Harry Maguire and full of praise for Phil Foden

Ahead of England's Last 16 match against Senegal, John Stones had words of praise for his Manchester City teammate Phil Foden.

He also spoke about Harry Maguire's performances at the tournament, some of the surpise exits of the World Cup and the return of Kyle Walker and what he can bring to the England side.

Canadian here. England's attacking depth is absolutely ridiculous. It's as good as (if not better than) any other national team's, and something that other nations will fear. Having 5 substitutes benefits everyone but disproportionally benefits teams with this sort of depth. The ability to bring on players like Grealish in the later stages of the game is insane. It's really too bad that England supporters are so often unable to appreciate the quality of their players and manager. I'll be rooting for them for the rest of the tournament!

The best player from england is gareth southgate. He is not delusional. WC is about good defense. And english players are over rated. Grealish on the left is not very good he seems best behind the striker especially in the latter stages of the game. Sterling is Englands best player the others are ok. If sterling is out of form england will have problems. They have no DLP so the m8dfield is lacking. Maddison and FODEN are not bad.

maguire is a solid defender but hes slow asf and this has caused problems in the past, he get done because of it and u notice it when he plays week in week out if he was a little bit faster there wouldnt be many better but england havent played a good team yet . i like this england team but i think they are overrated when u look at the stats in the past 3 years they have played 6 or 7 games againts real teams and have only manage to win 1 game againts belgium nearly 3 years ago
