In this video I show you how to draft the bodice block from scratch, using a specific set of measurements to achieve it. It is an introduction to my first Online Course "Pattern Making Basics". Where you get to learn how to draft the Bodice, Sleeve and Skirt Blocks yourself like a PRO!

In this intermediate level course, I lay the foundation by grasping the principles of pattern making, body measurements and the importance of accurate calculations.
It'll also cover how to test for fit, troubleshooting for different body types, and adjusting for corrections.

I found this very helpful, the downside is that there are sections of the video where the sound disappears.

The video is very good for a beginner. I was struggling to draft my bodice in class and this really gave me a better idea than the booklet that teacher gave us.

Something that always bothers me: why is bust measurement is divided by 4? My back is not the same with as my front. I'm a 32E bra size (i have narrow back. And shoulders). This would make my back too wide, but my front too tight. If we want to be precise, should we measure the back and front portions separately as well?

In front shoukder dart you said smaller bust 2cm and bigger bust 1cm. What is size range for smaller bust and bigger bust ?? Could you please mention ??

Thank you. My daughter wanted a trouser suit. But the pattern was too small for her. I managed to adjust the trousers without issue. They fitted great until she asked for them to be baggy - ugh. However, the fitted jacket was scaring me. Miraculously, an hour after I said that to her, this came up on YT. So this morning I went through it with my measurements. I am now going to do it for her then lay the pattern pieces on top so I can work out how to add the extra inches. Phew this saved me some stress
