The fact that Trump is currently the frontrunner for the GOP should have no weight at all in front of the SCOTUS. The only thing the SCOTUS should base its decision on is the Constitution. Where people stand in the polls should have no bearing whatsoever. Any decision based on poll position would be a political one.

She's unqualified if she doesn't know what the Civil War was fought over; unqualified because she apparently doesn't think slavery was wrong or is afraid to say so.

The sycophants groveling as they run against him... the craziness just never ends...

So if Nikki Haley is The President and the US is in a difficult situation and was at a press conference, would she ask the journalists what we should do?

Here is the problem. The justice department should’ve gone after Trump on January 7 for insurrection. Then he would be convicted by now there would be no argument as to whether he committed insurrection or not two years later.

The fact that it even got to this point of people accepting Trump as a candidate is a canary in a coalmine. The point is, not that Trump is being invalidated by various states. Those states are within the law and doing things by the law. People will point out that it isn't "democracy". Well, democracy lives within a framework of law. The fact that some disgraceful person can break all these rules and still being accepted and it requires draconian aspects of the law IS an indicator on how far people have fallen. That the state of democracy is so low in the US.

"What was the civil war about?" - a real 'gotcha' question😂

Desanity's response disqualifies him from presidency. The Constitution says what it says.

She said, "what do you want me to say about slavery, " because she did NOT connect the civil war with slavery

The idea that the Civil War was about states rightS, plural, has always been amusing. I'm pretty sure it was that the states wanted one very specific right, the right to own another human being, Body and Soul, in complete antithesis to what stated in the Constitution:
All men created equal, inalienable rights to life and Liberty.

Ron DeSantis did not say slavery either. Plus Ron DeSantis is trying to get rid of black history

Trump and others with like-minded views are exactly why we need this statute and should keep it. We know what he wants to do to this country, he has told us, and anyone who has done what he has should not be allowed to run for president. We should not take that kind of chance with our country because if he were to win all Americans lose!

21:01 I’d rather have a very old president that cares about the country and its people, than a very old president that only cares about himself, and praises current and historical dictators.

The question is not whether the Supreme Court will "vote against Donald Trump". The question is: will the Supreme Court vote against the Constitution?

It is numbing to watch laws be ignored and overlooked. We the taxpayers are treated as no-things.

Now somebody needs to ask Nik where she stands on LGBQT and abortion rights. If she answers the way most Republicans would, remind her about her statement that everyone should have the liberties to do or be
anything they want to be without government interference in their lives.

It will definitely be politically if the Supreme Court grants him to stay on the ballot, the law and the constitution say, he's not qualified, because of his own actions. Point blank.

To qualify to be a candidate you must follow the 14th amendment, no ifs or bouts about it, ,,, the supreme Court must uphold the constitution.

desantis criticizing Haley especially after he said "Blacks benefited from slavery" is a joke.

jacekpaszkowski

Desantis raised Haley's comment, but not really. He also stepped around it. He's afraid to say the word slavery in case the word itself will anger the Trump base.
