We continue our journey of travel and exploration to see what it's like to live in a country, and examine its cost of living and affordability. We leave Montenegro in this video and travel to freshly re-opened Bulgaria where we plan to spend close to two months.

Do you want to live abroad as an Expat? Are you looking for affordable and viable options? We are exploring the world to see what it's like to live in a country, and also discover if Residency is an option.

We began our retirement in March of 2020 with the intent to travel the world, spending 1-3 months in a country or location. We want to see what it's like to live there and not simply visit, and we want to share these experiences and the costs with whoever wishes to follow along.

If your looking for a place in Europe to live or retire one of the countries we visit may be an option, stay tuned and follow along.

We bought our home in Kotor Montenegro in 2016, we were enchanted by this medieval city from first sight. With the low cost of living, Mediterranean climate, UNESCO Heritage designation, and it's popularity as a tourist destination for Eastern Europeans and the British it made perfect sense to buy there. As we travel Europe over the next 5 to 10 years we will be using our home in Montenegro as our home base, rest assured our journey is not ending.

We have used AirBnb to rent out our home in the past, we have decided that we are going to be more selective about who stays in our home going forward. While we are away traveling we will rent our home to our viewers anticipating there will be more respect and care when staying in our home. We will rent the home in month long blocks, if you are staying less time you can still stay but you would be renting for the month.

We will make a commission on these links, your rates are not impacted.

Julie and I retired early not by luck but by planning.
One of our spokes to our wheel for savings, and now an income stream
is Fundrise. Basically we are invested in many apartment complexes around the country.
We get a portion of the rents in the form of dividends, and growth in value with the appreciation
of the properties. We currently have selected an income REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust)
which historically pays between 7.5% - 9% annually in dividends. You can chose a balanced REIT which has a split between appreciation and dividends or a REIT where it's focused on appreciation and not dividends.
Check it out to see if it's a fit for your savings, or retirement strategy. Feel free to share this with those you feel may benefit from this program.

"It's worth the trip, just to take the trip." Nice words that apply to life in general. Nice video.

I really find the natural and unpolished way you present your videos genuinely informative but also relaxing. The tone of your work makes it more authentic if that makes any sense? Get so tired of presenters with aritificially hyper-energy shilling wherever they are as the best thing until the next week when wherever they are is even "awesomer". Subbed earlier today and following eagerly as Bulgaria seems an intriguing place for a base for retirement right on the doorstep of the Schengen area. Thanks for doing this!

First of all, love your videos. I only have one suggestion, check your audio. Some of the videos the sound is not good/very weak. Sorry.
But other than that great videos😊

Did you also have salmon and chicken at the Sofia restaurant? I don't really care, but that's what the receipt said.

Too bad you didn't show a road itself a little bit.

I'm not sure why you say it's Orthodox Easter which was a couple of weeks ago, 3 weeks after Western Easter, and it is held at night not during the day.
