How to replace a lever tap

Very many thanks - I used this video to fit a new tap in the bathroom sink, as the old one was leaking when connected to the hot water. When the mrs gets back she is going to be thrilled. Great video - great upload

After years of ownership of an ideal standard i discovered i could remove the lever for pop up waste put the supplied allen key down and tighten from the top.

Wouldn't have taken much for the last person who put it in to go 90 degrees out the wall, just laziness. I also put a little sealant on the mating surface of the baseplate which meets the body as this is metal to metal as I find this seeps water. Crazy why manufacturers omit this basic thing, they but a sealing washer on the under side but not the other mating surface! Great video as always :)

in my thoughts, you have to open a tap and run water for couple of seconds to let out air which is trapped into flex pipe, and than check for any leaks ;)
