When you hear the word goblin, you think of those
from generic fantasy media and games.
They usually appear in many numbers
and are seen as little ugly green things serving some dark overlord.
Usually portrayed as dumb and evil

They even show up in anime nowadays either as just cute villagers or the level 1 mob monsters

In some folklore they are fairy folk and are tricksters, in norse they were called dwarves and were skilled smiths and craftsmen but mostly they are just mischievous fairies
and some even have a human-like appearance
