THIS HAPPENED TO ME | No Shave November | Cancer Awareness is a whole new thing for me in 2018, as this past January I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma ( skin cancer ), requiring the MOHS surgical procedure to remove the skin cancer. It took 3 passes to get it all removed.

This video isn’t about me and it’s about owing proactive and making sure you protect your self from as many cancer risk factors as possible. Wear PPE, wear sunscreen, live a healthy life style, minimizing risky habits. Cancer awareness Is huge in today’s world!

Needless to say, this No Shave November has been the most meaningful of my life. I’ve always been aware of cancer but my eyes are wide open this year to the risks of cancer!

I have photos of the actual procedure, I just didn’t upload the video with the pictures because YouTube doesn’t perfer the use of surgery photos. I could upload it as a private video of people are interested in the pictures.

Please comment in the comment section, who you know who has been effected by Cancer.

This was a very difficult video, really hard to talk about with out a flood of emotions...... But I hope we can minimize the risks for someone, so they do not have to go through this battle.

Good message. Sometimes we think too much about how we are going to care for our lawn better, and forget about taking care of ourselves when we are outside. It's so important. My grandmother was a breast cancer surviver, and just this year a really good friend of mine from college was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma. It's hard to watch those you care about suffer. But at the same time they inspire me. Cancer awareness is really important. Thanks again for sharing.

Cancer awareness is paramount. My mother died from breast cancer when I was sixteen. Check yourself regularly . If it don’t look or feel right go to the doctor right away, better to be safe than sorry if nothing. Thanks for sharing Jeremy. 😳👍👍

As much as I think I knew all these things, it's still great to hear you say them. Thank you.

I'm glad you are doing well. Important message. And, it's important to reflect and be appreciative for all we have. Someday, it might be gone too early, and unfortunately, my dad had Cancer and passed away in 2004 at 61, so live life to its fullest. Carpe Diem.

awesome video man.
wife lost her grandfather to lung cancer about a month before we got married. It definitely made things a little more sad at the wedding for her grandmother and the rest of us. Open bar helped out.

It's difficult seeing somebody, even the strongest of people, get torn down to nothing but skin and bone from the chemo, the sickness. The emotional breakdown is just as bad as they fight to even get out of bed some days.

One of my best friends died in 2010 in our Junior year of High school. It was eye opening because he was the strongest person at our school the prior year. It showed me that anyone could be affected. Also when I played college football the strongest person on the team was diagnosed with cancer and he fought back and is now in the NFL. Then the cancer came out of remission and had to fight it a second time. Hope you are safe this year. I know my wife had a lot of talks with me because I was in the sun all year with lawn care and fishing.

Three layers must have creeped you out....each time they had to shave more off!
Lots of fisherman have been getting the same troubles here, top of the ears, noses and arms.
I started wearing the sun shirts from Columbia they are long sleeve and spf 30 because of there light but close weave fabric.
Some men that are out all day use those snoods but I just have the wide brim straw hat.
Sunscreen can get expensive if your using lots, the new stick type from Nuetrogena is easy to carry and you can put it on hands free if your working.
Good luck in the future with that and take special care!

Jeremy, you said that you got caner, but you didn't mention if you have beat it as yet. I hope you have. If you have not, then I wish you a speedy recovery. Yes, there are two people in my family who have gotten cancer. One has passed from it and the other is a survivor. All my best to you, my friend!

Hate to here that man, hope all the best to you. I'd recommend watching the first 3-4 episodes here on YouTube called "The truth about cancer the quest for the cures". Pretty long videos but could give you another perspective on things.

Smooth as a baby’s butt😉 Great message, Jeremy. For those that have not had the ‘C’ word thrusted upon them, empathy for those who have becomes a powerful and mutual elixir.
