Jim Walmsley Swears Off Ultra Trail Running to Attempt a Beer Mile World Record.
American ultra trail runner Jim Walmsley has accomplished so much in his career. Including wins at JFK 50 and the Western States 100 not once, not twice but three times. He set the course record at the Western States 100 trail race in 2018 and then went on to better his own record by 21 minutes in 2019. Further, he was named UltraRunner of the year four years in a row. With all of this success in North America, it was only logical to assume that he would attempt to be the first American Male to win the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc, considered to be the toughest ultra trail race on the calendar. Shocking the running community, Jim has announced that he will be forgoing his UTMB aspirations and instead focus his attention on setting a new Beer Mile World Record. 😉
