I was with French band Les Variations and we did the "farewell" tour with Guess Who and I have to say Dominic Troiano was one of the badest-ass guitar players I've ever seen. On stage as in this video they had all that white equipment (also Led Zep's quad PA and Dominic had 2 Marshall stacks AND 2 Leslie cabs with Marshall heads and some kind of modified Echoplex. We would be backstage and he would punch those Leslie's in and it would knock you down it sounded so good. They all were great. R.I.P.

Everything about this band is criminally underrated. The Guess Who are arguably the most underappreciated band, Burton is certainly the most underrated voice in rock, and Domenic is NEVER mentioned in the realm of great guitarists.

Why doesn't anyone ever mention the drummer, Garry Peterson? He's one of the best drummers ever.

Burton is an entertainer.
He gives 100+% 💯 of his voice, music & lyrics to his fans.
His life is music. 1974 was difficult, Dominic wasn't from Winnipeg Manitoba..he didn't fit the band..he wanted to change the kind of music. Burton was the leader since 1970.
In 1975 he broke up The Guess Who and went solo.
He is a survivor. I've learned so much from him, listening to his interviews, etc.
It's now the year of 2024.
Burton is still Rockin' 🎶🎹🇨🇦❤ 4:33

One magic night, I think in October of 2001, I saw the Cummings, Bachman, Peterson, Wallace and McDougall line up. It was an absolutely dream come true. Wished I had a chance to see the line up with Winter and Leskew, too.
Kudos to Burton for keeping the band “true” along the way. What Kale has done to adulterate their amazing Legacy is beyond a travesty.

This line-up of the GW gets short shrift, but it's the only version I saw in person, and I was so impressed by Domenic Troiano that I named the son my ex-wife was carrying after him. My Domenic is now a new grandfather...how time flies

I remember seeing this the night it aired. Burton is wearing the exact same suit/shirt he wore on the cover of his solo album with Stand Tall.

What an amazing performance. I wish I was born in the 50s-60s to have been able to see these guys in their prime. But alas I was born in 2000 😂🤷‍♂️

16 freaking 12"s on the stage. That was rock, you could feel the music. Burton was a pure natural vocal talent, no gimmicks, just great chops.

They had everything. Jazz, rock, blues, soul, the harmonies, etc…

At least Canada recognized...1987 they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and in 2001 they were given a star on Canada's Walk of Fame.

And don’t forget, there was very little (if any) editing or filtering of these shows back then. This is what they really sounded like. Authentic INSANE talent.
