On September 22nd 2015 I went in for my doctor appointment. My daughter was 20 months old at the time. When the doctor did my ultrasound she said I was in labor and that I needed to go upstairs to have my baby. Here we are today 11 brain surgeries and a 4-month coma later. The day after giving birth I got my tubes tied. The anesthesiologist did not put enough medication in my system so I felt the whole procedure. The pain caused me to have a massive stroke and a ruptured AVM. I was rushed to emergency brain surgery and they removed a part of my skull so that the swelling of the brain would have somewhere to go. Then I went into a 4-month coma. By the way I want to thank everybody who came by to visit me during that time. I had to learn how to do everything all over again once I woke up.

Thank you Aunt Sheryl Brown McCoy for stepping in and taking care of Jeremiah and Sherle for me. I would especially like to thank my mom Caprice McDonald for helping me and staying by my side from the time I gave birth until now. She lives in Los Angeles by the way.

Three and a half years before I got pregnant with my last child I was an exotic dancer and video girl. I was human trafficked at about age 14 and worked in the sex industry for 12 years.

I would like to send a huge thank you to House of Hope ran by Rosie Hightower Victoria's Friends founded by Best Selling Author Victoria Teague, Faith Christian Center where pastor Joel E Gregory was the senior pastor at the time and Minister Min Sean Hackney who was one of the ministers at Faith Christian Center. It was Jesus and these organizations that pulled me out of that awful industry. Making the decision to follow Christ was the best decision I could have ever made for myself and my family. I will be celebrating 9 years out of the industry in September of 2022. As you can see, September is a special month for me because it is the month that I quit the industry, it is the month that my son Jeremiah was born and it is the month of my birthday.

I want to personally give Senior Pastor Tyrone Barnette and Lady Tabitha Hooker Barnette of Peace Baptist Church- Decatur special recognition. Thanks for believing in me and helping me with quitting the first time. I thank you guys for sponsoring House of Hope because I don't know where I would be had I not started off there.
