Arriving In Bucharest // Amazing $35 Air B&B + Romanian Grocery Haul

Romania is totally an under-rated gem of a travel destination in Europe. I had so much fun exploring Bucharest and was also shocked how INEXPENSIVE things are! I loved my air b&b that was super centrally located for such a great price, amazing stores all around me and of course a very dramatic arrival. This is the start of my trip, so I hope you guys enjoy this video! xo

I arrived in Bucharest on Friday. I'd heard the stories about the taxi scams as well, but I had no idea there were machines to use for ordering a taxi. I asked a advice from a guy at the bus station. There were a lot of taxis parked there and he told me to avoid them because none of them were "official taxis". He pointed one out across the road and said I should take that. The price for the journey was about the same as the price provided by the Rome to Rio app, so I think he gave me good advice.

I know what you mean about the traffic. It's crazy. The best thing to do is use the metro. You can get a 10-trip ticket for only 20 Leu. It's the best way to avoid the congestion on the roads. I only used a taxi because I didn't want to lug around my luggage searching for a metro station.

Oh yes I remember getting the taxi at Henri coanda airport from the machine.
I also love shopping in the local supermarkets and in Romania and Moldova you will find lots of independent ones because in the countries we live they are mostly companies like Walmart and what not.
When I was a little girl you would not find soya and alternative milk in a normal supermarket.
I also normally research and organise what to do for my trips but for some reason I didn’t do so much of that in Russia, I just booked my flights, accommodation and highlights and then I had a lot of time in my hands so I went on exploring other cities by myself on the trains with a map and I really enjoy going to places I had never even heard of until I got there.

My partner and I went to the U.S. about a month ago on a fairly intense tour. Wanted to buy SIM's for our phones but were always too busy. After about a week things slowed down and we could have got SIM's but decided as we had survived that long we could manage a bit longer. We safely got back to Australia without loosing ourselves or each other. Get off-line maps for SIM free travel.

Alina can you tell me more about the Raffealla? Is it like Mounds here in the US? You mentioned that it has coconut in it. I love Mounds because of the combination of dark chocolate on the outside and coconut on the inside, its yummy! I'm a HUGE fan of good dark chocolate! LOL and Gelato!
