I'm from Germany and every supermarket has a bread slicer. Germans are crazy for bread, pastries and cake.

just for the people who don't know. there are tools called hand and knife. it costs 5 kcal and a bit of elbow grease.

Heads up if you have a bakery section in your supermarket, just ask them to slice bread for you cuz they'll probably have one if these in the back. Used to work in one and I'd use it once in a while. It was fun
