A growing freshwater lake is rare and should be taken advantage of. Don't they have a use for the water? Pump it to dry areas and farm?

Building next to lake shores or sea shores or even river banks is risky anytime. They always are changing. Perhaps they should build on higher ground and lose the lake front property views?

Too much water is better than not enough water! Adapt to it & you'll be fine! If you drain the lake now, what happens next year when there's not much rain? ADAPT
