While this scene was beautiful, I think it suffers the same problem as the rest of the game, and that’s that it doesn’t tell the story well enough. Bayonetta 1 and Cereza have such rich history together, and to see that all reflected with only one line felt like a cheap understatement of what's integral to the Bayonetta games as a trilogy. I honestly thought that Bayonetta 3 would be more about the relationship between Bayonetta and herself rather than her and Luka. I saw them less of a 'will they, won't they' couple and more of a 'reverse damsel in distress' to highlight Bayonetta's dominance and lack of interest in anything but her friends and herself.
