Hello, crafty friends! I'm getting some helpful tips about homemade shimmer sprays, so I'm going to copy them into this comment and pin it to the top so you can all read them!

If you buy really cheap spray bottles they can be prone to blockages. To reduce the risk, rather than shake the bottle up and down with the spray nossel attached, hold your finger (tightly) over the neck and mix well. Once made, shake the bottle side to side, to prevent larger particles of mica entering and blocking the tiny tube. (E Matthews)

Since I have only mica powders, I i use gel hair spray when mixing together shimmer sprays. It works well as a fixative and a little bit is all I need. (Jean Hiebert)

Liquitex makes an iridescent acrylic paint that I add to water and mica powder. It works really well and the shimmer is gorgeous. It also works well in place of Wink of Stella. As it is a large tube, it is very cost effective too. (Denise Craft)

I make my shimmer sprays with isopropyl alcohol, mica and a good long squirt of hairspray into the spray bottle, it doesn't rub off, you can also add a small amount of pva glue to the bottle. (Yvonne Duffy)

When I make my own sprays, I always add a few drops of liquid gum Arabic. (Greetje B)

Hi Natalie, I'm gradually catching up on your videos! I only discovered you recently and am trying to watch all that you have put up. I have made some shimmer sprays with some Starlights metallic paints and to keep my nozzles from blocking I take them off after each use and keep them in a screw top container with water in it and change the water every so often. Great idea again to use the powders. TFS 👍💖

Love the card. I think except for the embossing card, I have everything to make a card like that. As I have been working on my decluttering I discovered that I had multiple sets of pigment powder and remembering this video from the first time I saw it, I knew to set them aside and then Amazon offered me two of those spray bottles! How neat is that? I got a set of 40 finger daubers about two weeks ago and spent the evening yesterday trying them out. I had a much better time with them than trying to use markers to color the objects with as I was comparing thecniques, but I forgot to try it with my brushes to compare them to the daubers so will have to try them. I have been learning so much from you and I appreciate it so much as I have no friends that do this and I don't get out much. Thank you.

Pretty pigment option! I don't think I've ever sprayed anything on any of my cards. Another great idea! (And adding the turquoise to the green resulted in a REALLY pretty shade!) 😊 Thank you, Natalie, for continuing to record these helpful tutorials! 💕
