How to Make Mushroom Liquid Culture From Grain Spawn

Because only sterile water was used, the syringe must be used within 1-2 weeks. Sterilized honey water will allow longer storage and growth.

This method has helped me in the past while working with a species of mushroom that didnt produce spores. I hope this video helps you one day! Thanks for watching!

Alternatively, you can pour sterilized LC solution into a grain jar you just emptied. Even if it looks empty, it is not.

This is technically a myceliated water solution and not a liquid culture. Though that's live culture suspended in fluid, a liquid culture uses a nutrient laden liquid to promote growth and expansion of the mycelium. This is just live mycelium sucked up and suspended in water. Though it will work like a liquid culture it wouldn't continue to grow and and take over that water like it would something with some nutrients in it. I used to get Petri dishes of oyster mycelium and do this and make about 50 other dishes with it in minutes. I got a lot of bacterial blemishes on first and second generation transfers as I never had a flow hood but they were always real easy to clean up with a few more transfers.

Wow, I didn't know this was possible! Thanks for the info. Bravery for the benefit of others!

It would have been very beneficial if you had also demonstrated the success of the procedure on a Petri dish or in a jar? Other than that, very informative.

This is how I do my grain to grain transfers, I inject water just pour it in to my new grain jars, that way I don't lose grain from the parent jar.

Can I do this with a sawdust spawn by adding a self-healing port on the spawn bag near the top of the bag, then injecting the sterile water, agitating the bag as you did the jar, and then extract that inoculated water, etc.?

is it true that when you keep cloning some mushroom, it will degrade or is it just a myth that can be avoided by changing the substrate where you put the mycelium?

Thank you, that will be helpful; i didn't know it was possible, i'm gonna go see what else you've produced on here.
