Resources to Support English Learners in Your Classroom

2021 NC BT Summit - Growing to Greatness: Policies, Practices & Impact
In this session, participants learn about English language learners in NC and the different characteristics of this student population. Members of the NCDPI ESL/Title III team share a brief overview of what the English language instruction educational program (LIEP) is, the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for English language development (NC SCOS ELD), what resources are available, and where to find support in the school district. Participants explore opportunities for networking and collaboration with other educators across the state to learn and share best practices for growing success for ELs (EL Teacher Network #Together4ELs and the ELD Hub via the open education resources library #GoOpenNC).
