Best version of the cello solo so far, great section.

One of the best ouvertures in opera history, for me at least. Love the tender moments, the drama, the suspension and how quickly these change. A masterpiece!

I was shocked and saddened to hear about the death of this great conductor. He will be greatly missed! R.I.P MAESTRO.

Ya know, you just can't help but smile when you watch this wonderful performance. And I like many others I first heard this back in the 50"s on a small black and white TV screen watching the Lone Ranger and Tonto fighting evil in the old west. I love how these musicians seem to enjoy this so much. And what a legend of a conductor!

Love seeing the orchestra work! The string instrument bows, the trombone slides, and the tympanist pounding!

Still amazed at Rossini's ability to conceptualize this piece in his head and then right it down for everyone to play into a joyous et all did a superb performance....Great with headphones too.

Avrò il piacere di riascoltarlo i primi di gennaio per i 150 anni del Musikverein a Vienna e sarà per me una grandissima felicità... Mariss Jansons ti dona tutta la sua magia!

I love this conductor who I just discovered here for the first time. His understated style was refreshing. Very sad to know he is no longer with us. The performers were fantastic. But the videography... Is there a law against videoing the entire orchestra playing at the same time? It seems that all orchestra videos never show the entire orchestra, especially when they are all playing at peak intensity. What's up with that? This video took ignoring the entire orchestra to a new low when, during one of the most dramatic portions of the piece they showed us... the ceiling! Simple rule for videographers: when everyone is playing, show everyone playing. It's not difficult.

I like how he accelerated through the final bars - much better than a boring rit.

Che la terra ti sia lieve, Maestro! Ho avuto l'onore e il privilegio di ascoltarlo dal vivo a Vienna, concerto di Capodanno 2016, la perfezione assoluta!
