The music in this game is good, is just that you don't hear much of it either because an alpha pokemon (or any pokemon) just interrupts the music or in case of the battle ones you just finish the battle too fast (with few exceptions).
It is nice to hear this music in it's entirety, it's so wonderful.

Arceus does have a lot of bangers, I wish they would've taken the Fire Emblem route and added a "Calm/Storm" version of these songs so they don't get interrupted. Of course that's a lot to do but man these songs get interrupted way too often.

I don't understand why so many people just point to legends arceus's overworld theme as lacking too much musicality like BOTW's piano flourishes although the majority of the themes are bops

Every time the music started playing, I stopped playing. I hunkered down behind a rock (NOT in bushes, which muffles it) and listened. It's so good, I wish it played all the time. Big fan of the calmer tunes too- the midnight theme, in particular, is just on the edge of haunting and really stood up in a series that's more often known for its bright and peppy melodies. (I wish so hard that little Rhodes ditty near the end was a full song.)
