IGN: Gotta take off points this game doesn’t look enough like the old ones

Also IGN: This game plays too much like the old ones. Not original at all. Points off.

"Megaman 11 is literally what everybody wanted, but nothing else. 7.5."

That moment when the reviewer says that a Megaman game is too much like a Megaman game...
You are aware we haven't had a proper Megaman title in quite some time so I say this is just what we needed.

It’s kinda funny that Capcom have made a better classic style Megaman game than Keiji Inafune did.

“Oh I can’t respawn instantly”

Have you ever actually played a Mega Man game?

It's look like a classic Megaman game and people have been asking for something like this for years. Now I want Megaman X9.

I think Block Man's stage is more inspired by South American architecture than Egyptian.

So tired of hearing the mainstream video game reviewers knocking points off otherwise great games because it does nothing different. These same arguments were brought up when Dragon Quest XI released early last month, and was reviewed by Game Informer.

Perhaps I am alone in my thinking?

I BUY GAME SEQUELS BECAUSE I WANT MORE OF WHAT MADE ME LOVE THE GAME IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Let’s face it... A review from a large publication, online or otherwise, can make or break a game. Reviews that knock these games for not doing anything different sends a powerful message to video game developers. It forces the developers to change an otherwise perfect sequel... to alter the game mechanics so much, the series loses focus. Games like Shining Force, Phantasy Star, Sonic, Final Fantasy, among others, come to mind. It’s one of the main reasons that independent game designers have created so many “spiritual successors”.

A video game review should be based on it’s own merits and downfalls. Not if the game has created something totally different.

One of the best Mega man games I've played! Easily a 9 - 9.5

“It’s pretty average, but I lived it! It adds nothing new, but it’s a great foundation for the next 10 games! There’s nothing to do after you beat it, but there’s also a bunch of challenge modes!”

I played the demo and let me tell you that its at least 8.5

I HATE how they always say that there isn't much new for each megaman game. Like this is a 2d platformer. They already make new stages and weapons and bosses for the game. What else does it need?

you don't NEED to do the bosses in order. Not in any Mega Man game. You are just bad and need the easy mode weapon instead of figuring out how to master the bosses with just the buster.
