When you are chewing your your words at the recovery part and said it will take some time, you knew how long it will take. I am looking at 115:22:49.77 for one data file.
And that’s for 20gb of data only.
Very disappointed on instructions and solution.
I’m throwing my Qnap in the thrash tonight.

Well, just yesterday midnight my QNAP was ENCRYPTED, the file names and structures are intact, only .zip, .pdf, .txt, .jpg and other common files have an additional .encrypted extension - e.g. text.txt.encrypted. This seems to be a new version of some ransomware (updated Qlocker? Who knows) and there is no solution avaialable so far. Furtunately I had no critial data there, and all my FLAC files were left unencrypted. So take care guys.

So the hackers can launch a program that encritp and leave the same names without external drive. Me, that I payed QNAP for this beautifull hardware that was caressly left unpdated software by the multimilion company, have to but external drive, and use command line? Seriously? is this the respect QNAP have for your customers? I would have thought that the priority number 1, for your own credibiliyt, wuld have been to develope an app do to this as smoothly and quickly as possible, before you release any other software at all. Oh I was wrong, keep on producing other apps, while the whole database of customers become garbage!

hello you can help me please I did steps 1 to 3 without problem. but step 4: qrescue.sh does not work. error! failed to find 7z binary. thanks
