Magikarp isn't really meant to be used in any major fighting and the easiest way to level one is to find one that knows tackle which means catching one at a low enough level in the wild so that it can learn it

Legend of Dragoon: Shana. I like the character, but she's useless in the party. I even did the grinding to max out her dragoon abilities and while she can heal like a champ; her damage output is just too weak because she's the only character (aside from Miranda who replaces her) who doesn't get additions; which means she does flat damage and that damage blows.

From what I understood from hardcore FFX fans, Kimhari can be broken if utilized properly. There’s some overdrives he can pick up that are OP, and if you do utilize the sphere grip properly he can be one of the top fighters. Generally though for non completionists he’s pretty underwhelming. Rikku is also usually misunderstood and underutilized.

Hope's weapon was the reason I didn't use him. I always specced Khimari as a thief as soon as possible so as to get as many stealing chances as possible whether Rikku was in the party or not.

I always sent Kimahri into Rikku's sphere grid so I had double the chances of stealing.

Saying Hope was meaningless in FFXIII, is like saying Vivi was terrible in FFIX.

When I played ffx the 1st time, my Kimahri became my main black mage so I was surprised he is on this list.

Hope from FF13 is one of the most essential party members in the game. He's the best Ravager overall. The 2nd best Synergist and the BEST Medic. You can't start off this list with a character that good.

Ok, sorry, but no, Khimari is NOT supposed to be a "Jack of all trade" character. If that's how you evolved him, for sure you'll think he's useless. But the way you are supposed to evolve his grid is by picking one specific path and sticking with it. Pick Yuna's path and you get a second White Mage in your team. Pick Lulu's path and you have 2 Black Mage now! Or Rikku for having a second Thief. Etc.

He's useful because he can have the same strenghts as any of the 6 other you wish (but one of them). But you're not supposed to put a few points in every 6 of them! At least not until you grind the whole grid for all your party members that is!

Hope...The character that somehow turned what should have been the easiest sympathy garnering character in FF13, he makes you wish he died and you got his mom.

I strongly disagree with the Zeke entry for one simple reason. The way the party member's AI works is gender based. Male characters focus on driver combos, female on blade combos. Tora randomizes it every minute of combat. So if you want a squad that focuses on Driver Combos, you use Zeke A LOT. Besides, if he actually was a tank he'd be actually useless as you already had 2 in a party of 5.

Not to mention all of the other strengths he has with weapon kits if you just take the time to look through them, but I'm sure plenty of other commenters have already told you those lol

Seams like they were trying to copy Palom and Porum from FF4 with those kids in Lost Odyssey, but they missed the major boon of the kids, twincast.
