In his Sunday update, Gov. Beshear reports 253 new COVID-19 cases this weekend, for an overall total of 5,130. Of those, 329 are currently hospitalized and 170 are in ICUs. There are 5 new deaths for a total of 253 fatalities. 1,892 people have recovered.

Wearing simple masks is nothing more than a feel good move. The only maks that might actually help are the ones we are told we cannot wear. If the government is requiring the use of masks they should supply them especially when they are restricting the use of the ones most readily available.

The way I see it is the governor's getting a paycheck. So why should he care if the state is open or closed. It's the people who's wondering how their bills are going to get paid. If the governor wasn't getting paid the state would be open tomorrow.

Vaccines might not be the only option (or even the most likely successful medical option) for dealing with Covid19. That's a key point that the governor should understand. Why IBM has forgotten about its own macromolecule project is bizarre. But perhaps it's just so big of a company now that it just can't keep track of everything. Macromolecules would be a new form of medical solution if they were fully developed and tested.

Look I supported this for weeks and weeks...but 100, 000's of thousands of Kentuckians are out of jobs, losing their businesses and lively hoods etc. Many have yet to recieve their benefit because of the states lousy unemployment system. He has not coordinated at all with Indiana! I live in Louisville and let me tell you I intend to cross the river in go to theater, shop, get my haircut, etc, in Indiana!!! And unless the state police block the bridges to Indiana expect an increasing traffic to that state which is doing a much more reasonable opening despite having 4 times the covid cases in Kentucky!!!. There is no reason why the majority of the state cant be accelerated and opened. I just checked the state by county and my God over 75% of the counties have less then 10 cases with the majority just having two or one..some have zero!! But just like a damned democrat one plan for all no matter what! Enough with the people magazine reports. and get with Indiana and get a better plan for opening


Every other office holder in this state is Republican except we are cursed to have a democrat for Governor who won by less than by 5000 votes!!! Open the ball parks, theaters, concert halls and let the people wear masks and decide to go or not. My 88 year old mother cant return to the state unless she is quarantined for 2 weeks for God's sake.


I am 66 years old and have no intention of living my life in total fear under this continued rolling tyranny!!! I will wear the damned mask in the stores but no wear else!

Indiana says public pools may be open as early as May 24th, yet our Governor thinks that won't happen in May or June. Absolutely ridiculous! With public pools I can probably understand, mainly because Louisville didn't have money to open all of them last year. Just another excuse not to imo. However for private HOA pools there's zero reason not to allow it. We are adults and not children.
