People remember the start of power hitting at the top of the order to have started in the mid nineties by Jayasuria, Kaluwitarana and Afridi etc., but this man, Anwar was the true pioneer of power hitting at the top of the order and was already doing it in the late eighties and early nineties. Later on, he settled into a much stable, consistent and a world class legendary opener.
