Couple of years riding and my advice to people is to not spend too much time trying to pick the "perfect" motorcycle gear. Buy what's in your budget and upgrade over time. As you ride, you'll get a better idea of what type of products you'll want to buy. I highly recommend going to a physical dealer/revzilla/cycle gear to try on gear, even if they don't have the exact item you want in stock. You'll see how different brands fit and it'll help you pick the right size the first time and avoid returns for online orders.

Really want to see more helmets with MiPS. It's such a small thing to add.

I don’t understand the concept of "beginner gear". Your head and body is not a beginner model, it’s the only one you’ll ever have. This falls under the "put a cheap helmet on a cheap head" category. I buy equipment by its safety rating and price. You CAN buy inexpensive top rated safety gear.

Honestly, if you're going to ride, wear decent calf-height boots. The majority of MC injuries are lower leg and those ankle bones are hard to fix. Spend the money and protect yourself riding friends 😊.

0:34 - Guys, no. Come on... Motorcycle gear is very expensive, but I understand the importance of getting inexperienced riders used to the idea that they HAVE TO wear gear. But Honestly, I used Shoei helmets for most of my riding life which is 31 years, and it's not only the brand but the model of the brand, then I discovered Nexx which is the only brand currently made in Europe and I bought 2 amazing Nexx models. If you crash, (let's pray none of us do) I had one crash in 1994 and you hit your head, which is very, very bad, if a Nexx doesn't do the job then a Shoei won't either. Fortunately, in my one big crash, minus a dozen tip overs over the years I didn't hit my head.

much better than buying riding pants is chaps. you'll get non-stop quips about "assless chaps" just about every day, but it means you can wear any pants you want, and still ride to work without worrying about scraping off your legmeat in the event of a crash. and if you buy a quality pair, you'll see almost no damage even after sliding down the asphalt at 80mph. i know because i've done it. chaps are great. i don't ride without them, just like i don't ride without my jacket, helmet, and gloves.

The $1000 price point is reasonable, but $500 to $600 would be more attainable. The higher cost may discourage some new riders from acquiring decent gear, so employing a bit of bargain shopping can pay dividends. A few of these items are unnecessarily premium brands that carry a premium price.

There are comparable jackets available for $40-$50 less. Decent gloves with scaphoid protection for only $50. Riding jeans that include armor at the same price or lower. Those Alpinestars boots kill me; plenty of options at or near $100 for casual beginners. I won't argue much on prices of helmets, but most people are woefully misinformed regarding helmet safety ratings and what constitutes a safe helmet. Shop around for discounts to save money on helmets.

Would love a video or at least some input on helmets for people with very large heads. I can barely find anything to jam on!

My son rides with a strada 2. Great helmet at that price point.

Recommending only 1 helmet is crazy - different brands fit different shape of heads. For instance, I can't wear my Shoei because it fits round heads and I have oblong. I changed to LS2 and the fit is great. Revzilla has that advice on their site for buying helmets, but ignores it for the video?? I would expect at least two options for every component - 2 helmets for 2 different head types, 2 jackets (how about street vs adventure?), 2 gloves (warm and cold). It isn't that hard.

I swear, Youtube is spying on me. I just passed my motorcycle license test, not a couple of hours ago, and this vid pops up?

Awesome gear. Imagine living in a country like America where you can just order all these items and have them at your house in a few days. Must be nice

Isn't that one of their brand for the helme and glovest?

Here in Europe we can get a decent motorcycle gear for half the price. There are some "generic" brands that work just fine for most of situations.

Hood Jeans out of the UK are (in my opinion) the best overall moto jeans when considering cost, protection level, fit, and style.

Can't find any link to an SMX 6 R V2 model, only the old SMX 6 V2. Your own link refers back to that old model too. So is there actually any 'R' model or is that a mistake?
Or is it so new you haven't listed it yet? Also, great video, I was watching for updates on gear. Cheers
