This particular cover is one of the most magical and honest and deeply felt covers I have ever seen and heard. She was 13. We don't need to or shouldn't need to think of how THIS cover should be better. This cover is EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT. I so understand how you were wanting to improve it and then realized it actually needed no improvement at all, considering that it is a cover .. a cover on YouTube .. but certainly one of the best covers ever. When she was very young, Angelina said she wanted to use her music to bring love to the world. How many children think of such things? I hiope many more. She sings this one with her eyes closed for much of it. She is channeling the song. When she sings how she gives all of me, the softness and beauty of her voice moves me to tears. Thanks for appreciating the greatest vocalist I have ever heard. I have listened to a lot of singing and she is so different— she doesn’t sing a song, she emotes a song and connects to the listener like no one I have known.

What you will realize in so many of these home videos is that she is practicing one technique after another by doing and we get to watch. The recordings are pretty much done by herself or her grandmother. A number of them are not gonna have the production quality to be able to critique them on that. Her voice always shines through with flying colors though. This was a karaoke track with a very rudimentary midi piano piece that is too loud. The rest of it is magic. The story goes that she received that Neumann TLM 102 for her 12th birthday. Anything with it is after that. Thank you for your reactions to Angelina. They have great depth to them and I love the way you understand her or at least try to put yourself in her position--trying to understand what she might be thinking.

Boudy, hi, and yes there is so much more to Angelina than her vocal and artistic attributes. As her popularity grows and she is discovered by millions of new listeners they will get to understand 'who she is' as we all have.
I would like to make reference to something that happened during the 'Shoe Story' when Angelina had a conversation with the poor unfortunate girl. She asked the girl want she wanted to do with her life. (The girl was about 7 so here we have a conversation between a 6 year old and a 7 year old.) I'm assuming the girl shrugged her shoulders a bit when she told Angelina she would have wanted to be a doctor. Angelina quickly spoke up and told her to 'never give up' and 'have hope that your dream will come true'. And, of course, on the way home Angelina realized she never wanted to forget that little girl and the fact that there are so many children in the world who, at the very least, didn't own a pair of shoes, and she decided at that moment that whenever she sang in public to appear on stage barefoot so that her memory of the girl would never fade. "6 YEARS OLD!"

Thanks for another wonderful reaction with this unique and incredible girl, Boudy. It's constant in Angelina's interpretations that her musical vision always transcends the ordinary and that she manages to give an interpretative reading that makes us understand and love the songs better, regardless of her age. This gorgeous girl is not only immensely talented, but she also has musical knowledge and analytical skills beyond my comprehension. We all are the fortunate ones, because Angelina's family and support group recognized her talent at a very young age, and they were able to nurture, support and promote that talent. And we all are the beneficiaries of that recognition. For every Angelina Jordan out there, how many hundreds with similar talent will never get that chance.
