On Nvidia Shield you can download any apps out of the app store. Speed is super fast. It's made for gaming and playing 4K live tv is no problem due to its powerful graphics card and processor. You can also play PC, PS4, Xbox games. Most other top android boxes are no way near the Sheild. Apple TV should be compared to mid ranged Android TV boxes.

Android hands down. Besides being overpriced hardware to begin with, Apple products being restricted to app store software only really hurts the platfom. Android having tons of great hardware options for everbody in any price range is pretty cool too. If all you need is a $20 box just for mobdro or terrarium you can literally do that, you can also go for a $40 to $100 mid range device or go uber premium with a $200 shield. Most people do not need need to spend more than $70 on a android box tho, theres lots of options between $30-$70 that will get job done just fine for streaming.

Nvidia Shield TV is one thing getting a generic Android tv box another. With most Android TV boxes you`ll not get 4K not even 1080p from Netflix since the device needs to be licensed for Netflix to show HD or higher.

i own both,
 the shield pro 500 GB and  Apple TV 4K,  for me the Apple TV 4K is far better for movie, streaming, and of course watching TV, the image quality is superior, and the interface is also a lot more fast and responsive,
the only thing that I prefer on my shield is GAMIMG,
but anyone with a next gen console will probably prefer it over the shield

The nvidia shield is definitely the better choice if you are into gaming. You can stream games from the cloud or from your own computer. Plus you can play all kinds of emulators from the play store.

Kodi is available on Apple App store. and Plex which allows NAS, and you can use VLC via Ethernet/ Stream via FTP.

I own both and which one you get depends on your needs. The Nvidia Shield is much better for streaming local content as it plays just about everything and bitstreams my audio. So it's my go to device for local content. I use the ATV for streaming apps as it has way more options than the shield. Both are good devices for what they do.

I have both and I use the shield TV more, YouTube, twitch, and Kodi. Since there's no Direct TV now app for the shield, that's when I use the Apple TV

Thanks for the video! The only thing I would change is the title. You use not just some Android TV box but the king - Nvidia Shield. Frankly, any other Android TV box would have no chance vs ATV. I own a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 and it‘s just not good. It’s getting more and more unstable over time.
