Toyota Land Cruiser TLC100 Lexus LX470 Marks 4x2 Conversion from AWD I Nikson Overland

You asked, I've done it and here is a description.

After sometime of testing it out and having viewers request a video description of the 4x2 conversion on my LX470, I've finally got to it - and here it is...

I cant say that its really worth it from the MPGs efficiency side, although I do get a better MPGs after install, but in the long run its all about the versatility that this kit offers, as well as lessening the wear-n-tear on the front end.

This is a 2003 Lexus LX470 (similar to TLC100 series), current mileage is 165k, still running perfect and strong.

All stock, except a +1 sizing on the tires with factory AHC suspension.

This OVERLANDER is for sale as it sits with all the accessories, working on a plan to build another 4x4 project, need to clear up the space to have another idea come along.

Every I see a differential related problem to design that engineers have to solve with complex gearing systems and clutches and electronic sensors and control software leading to drive shafts, CV or U joints, transmissions issues and power transfer... and I think how ALL of those problems and ALL the parts needed to solve them along with transmissions, CV joints, drive shafts, differentials, transfer cases wouldn't be needed with an electric car with electric wheel hub motors! You can add an electric generator until batteries get really good. Just think of all that MONSTER TORQUE from 0 rpm, imagine an off road vehicle with the power of a locomotive! Niceeee

to have 4x2 and what you do to have 4x4
Also what is the difference in gas usage do you get savings I had in the city 12 miles on gallon on highway 17
I had 3 of them since 1995 had LX450 than 2 LX470 Tthe 4x4 drove me nuts that I can not turn off like in M G class
I made more than miles in those cars I had 2 accidents that I just walk away with no injures
I'm thinking about getting one for my son for college but He drives 1000 miles one way so conversion would be nice

One problem I see is that the transfer case is still putting power to the front drive line, so your front drive shaft and axle shafts will still be spinning just not in tune with your front wheels. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Коль, я так понимаю эта приблуда тупо и навсегда блокирует диффиренциал в раздатке? так если это так, то не проще ли просто поставить хабы, а передний мость подключать отключать стандратной блокировкой в раздатке...

I have look and look and I think it is stupid to convert to optional locking, you ask why because with 4WD you have much superior handling as you have 40/60 drive ratio with rear wheel drive you have 0/100 and that when you losing stability as far as saving gas is not significant.
