Kitchen Jam: I'll Never Love Again

You know what I absolutely love about this song? Well, a lot of freaking things... but: the first chorus is floaty and airy and restrain and painfully subdued. The next is full bodied and rich. We get to hear 2 completely different versions of the same melody. Effing electrifying. ⚡️

Personally, I tend to gravitate towards big, bold vocal passages, but the first chorus- the one in this kitchen jam video- allows me to tap into a part of my expression that I yearn for: Vulnerability. There are many ways to be evocative as a vocalist. 🎤

Don’t ever underestimate the beauty of purposeful restraint. It takes plenty of skill, from a technical perspective but also, it calls on a singer’s willingness to take listeners to a place we often reserve for private moments. This chorus is yearning. Crying. Sighing. Grieving. And if you lean in to your own vulnerability, both you AND your listeners get to feel big things. ❤️

Many of your statements in the video are often tampered with by him using Chinese subtitles to completely contradict your meaning. For example, if you want to express that the competition doesn't put all the emphasis on the technique of vocal, but he uses the Chinese subtitles to say that you mean you know some incorrect insider information about Chinese variety shows. In the end, Flo crazily slanders Na Ying, saying that adding a monologue to the song makes her uncomfortable, but the original song itself has a monologue.
