I'm obsessed with Wylde Flowers since you first reviewed it so thank you so much for introducing me to one of my favorite switch games. I have over 200 hours in DDV and it's only going up. I'm so glad I started following you this year. Thank you for all the cozy game recommendations. You introduced me to a whole new world of games I adore and I never would've found without you. Thank you Iona. Can't wait for Fae Farm.

I am amazed how dominant the switch became in terms of sales numbers, more than double PS5 and Xbox combined... that is until I consider how many absolute banger games have launched on it, that you can then pick up and take with you anywhere.

Thanks for sharing! I have about 1500 hours on ACNH between two switches too 😂

Animal Crossing dropped at such a perfect time for me too. I took that day off work and joked with my co-teachers about needing a month off the enjoy it long before lockdown. I wish they had done more long term with the game but I enjoyed it anyway.

I got my Switch in May and my most played games so far are I Was a Teenage Exocolonist (35h) and Hades (30h). I really hope Coral Island will come out on the Switch soon, it looks so cool!

The Zelda games are actually the only games that I can reliably pick up and have fun in after not playing them for a bit. I can fast travel anywhere and then quickly familiarize myself with the buttons and fighting mechanics and then I’m right back in.

Thank you for showing that you can have short play times and still enjoy a game. I all ways feel bad when i see other people have hundreds of hours in a game conpared to my 60 hours and it makes me feel like im not appreciating the game enough. But seeing you have short play times makes me feel better.

I totally agree with you, Iona, on having to restart some games you haven’t played in a while because you forget what you were doing and how to do certain things in the game.😊 That happens to me much more often than I’d like to admit.😂 Too many games, and not enough time, sadly.❤ Ty so much for another amazing video, Iona! Love you!❤❤❤

My time in Portia is amazing and I don’t know why nobody speaks about it! I played on it for 6 hours straight yesterday 🤦‍♀️I’d say I’m only 1 percent through the game aswell!

Animal Crossing: 1700+ (Can't see total hours, but that's the last I remember.)
Tears of the Kingdom: 365+ (I beat Ganondorf, but there's still lots more I wanna do.)
Pokemon Scarlet: 275
Disney Dreamlight Valley: 220 (I uninstalled after the last update when I still couldn't play the Fairy Godmother update.)
Pokemon Let's Go Eevee: 250+ (I can't see my hours, but this game was the reason I got my Switch.)
LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga: 155
Breath of the Wild: 145+ (I bought it 2 weeks before TotK released and just went back to it after defeating Ganondorf in TotK.)

I never checked my time played. Not since I got my oled when they came out and I jumped from a lite. And boy am I surprised looking at it! 😂😂

I have DDLV at 820, ACNH at 710, Stardew at 540, and Ooblets at 120. I think I need more Ooblets! 😍

Potential unpopular opinion:
I don’t like live service games because to me, they always end up feeling like a cash grab with content hidden behind pay walls. ACNH is one of my favorite games ever & my most played behind BOTW & TotK.
I will ALWAYS choose the game that gives you a full & complete game up front (minus a DLC pack), versus a game that makes false promises in order to make as much money as possible. Don’t get me wrong, I would be so happy if nintendo added more content to ACNH, but I am content knowing how many hours I was able to put into a $60 game. Enjoyed every second. I’m not saying every live service game these days is a cash grab, but right now we are in “the age of broken video games” where companies are releasing game after game that is unfinished, promising players content down the road, that half of the time never comes. It’s really sad. I see so many people fully addicted to the phone games where you have to pay to progress. Many devs are creating games that will psychologically get people addicted so they must keep spending money to progress.
Sorry for going off on a tangent here, and I’m definitely not judging if anyone likes these type of games. I enjoyed DLV. I just hope people are aware of what’s going on in the video game industry right now. I have a ton of respect for game companies that are not stooping down to that level for money.

I loved Dreamlight Valley at first but I've honestly become so resentful towards it because I got so disappointed in several elements of it, and unfortunately Palia is still in Beta and I already feel the same toward it. Dev teams that call themselves small when they're not and that say that they care about their community when they only actually care about continuing to shake us down for every penny we have for an incomplete game, I'm sick of it.

TotK and Botw suffer from the same thing Skyrim did back in the day where you load an old save and have no idea what's going on

You are the reason I tried Wylde Flowers and for that I thank you! haha. Also, I play a lot of games like zelda where if I don't pick it up for awhile it makes me want to pick it up less because I know I am going to be lost and possibly have to start over. I actually have a gaming journal now, and whenever I finish playing a quest intense type of game I will actually document what I was doing and what I need to be doing, so, when I pick it up again I know exactly what I was in the middle of. It's simple and works really well!

I do feel like i enjoy shiny hunting much more in SV now. It feels more rewarding to spot a shiny without help from the sound. Just my eyes. It always seemed weird to me that they made a sparkle sound anyways. The game explains them like they are just genetic differences, and purley a color thing. So the sound thing is nice and all, but i feel much more satisfied after a day of shiny hunting using my eyes. Plus they made it easy. For the auto battle feature, your pokemon won't attack shinies.

Yeah AC for me is also most played, and it's crazy looking at the number, but keep in mind I played the game daily since April 2020 to June 2022- over 3, 050 hours omg lol.

Here's the others-
Miitopia- 375
BotW- 365
Tetris 99- 205
Spiritfarer- 150
MK8 Deluxe- 130
Mario Odyssey- 125
Luigi's Mansion 3- 110
Rune Factory 5- 95 (still unfinished and in first year)
Smash Ultimate- 40
Pokemon Snap- 20 (still unfinished main story wise)
Smushi Come Home- 5
NES- 3

I might as well mention the games you brought that I've played too on Steam-

Coral Island- 129 (I am only in my 2nd year and it's early Summer, so this number will skyrocket. I am just going to stick with steam since I am use to the controllers, they're similar to Stardew Valley).

Games I plan on picking up for the Switch (I am like 100% sure I am getting them)-
Rain Code
Story of Seasons: It's a Wonderful Life
Wylde Flowers (You've convinced me to get this one lol)
Palia

Tears of the Kingdom used to be on this list, but I don't think I'll be getting it now. I replayed BotW recently and I wasn't the biggest fan of the gameplay changes and it didn't feel like a Zelda game to me. The only pro about BotW was the story and while I think Story is important, gameplay always trumps story for me, so I won't be getting the game, especially with how much games cost and I'd rather get a game now I KNOW I am going to love.
