I came home from work crying because of stress (and I'm only in pre-nursing) but this video helped me stop feeling sorry for myself because we all have to do it, but it's what I signed up for. It's my passion. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks for the inspirational words.

Becoming an RN will truly become a dream come true, I feel like with how competitive it is I feel like I'll never become one. So depressing :( but your videos make me feel better about it! Trying to keep motivated.

NurseMendoza This video was such an inspiration. I had been thinking about pursuing a career as an RN but couldn't quite put together the right reasons and words in my head as to WHY I should pursue it. This video has made my answer completely clear now. In this video I felt I was able to relate to you in just about every aspect. I am currently 22 years old and have been working in a home for dementia patients for almost a year. I love it. I love coming in everyday and working with the psychological, mental, spiritual, physical and emotional aspects of the job. And like you said everyday is different, I remember one day I was working and a patient had smeared/thrown feces all over the bedroom. I'm not even exaggerating, it was everywhere. But I didn't care, I buckled down and I got the job done because I knew It was the best thing to do in order to protect the patients' health. Best part is, I don't even have any formal school training yet and I got access to this amazing job where I come home fulfilled from every night I work. I get access to my RN's and LPNs as amazing resources and guides as to what steps I need take. Such early work experience and guidance from professionals is something I'm sure a lot of people dream of and I intend to not squander it. Your words have made my path oh so clear and I am prepared to start making my next steps.

Thank you.

You are such an inspiration. Im currently a junior in hs and frantically researching nursing programs. I was a volunteer EMT so I shadowed a couple nurses and it became apparent since then that I cannot see myself in any other profession, keep up the good work!

Just the kind of motivation I need. I've been a nurse for only four years to date, and I started to have doubts in regard to staying in the nursing profession.

Thank you!

Hey Bro, gotta say that is a pretty awesome encouraging story about how you wanted to become a nurse. I am currently applying for a nursing school and the adviser i spoke with asked me why i wanted to be one. Unfortunately my answer, " I want to help people" didn't go over well with her. She said there is more to nursing than helping people which I know very well. So I have been doing some research on the many branches of nursing. What I am trying to get at is I don't really have a legitimate reason of becoming a nurse. I never wanted to be one when i was younger; i didn't play pretend nurse with my friends as a toddler or did anything that would make anyone think that i would be a nurse growing up. And like you; vomit, picking up dog feces, blood never bothered me and i can eat a full-fledged meal watching a surgery on the T.V. I am a very compassionate person when it comes to helping/protecting people. As i nurse i feel like its the perfect profession for me to get into. I just want to help people either by saving their lives or making a difference in it. Your advice is appreciated and also from your experience as a Nurse maybe you could help clarify the nursing school adviser's reasoning for her response. Thanks!

You and I literally have such a similar story, it’s so crazy! I’m about to start my second semester in nursing school and I can’t wait to be in your position. I also started a YouTube channel to document my journey through nursing school! I wish you nothing but blessings and thank you for making a difference in this world 🤙🏽

I'm almost done with my first year of college and trying to mix in some of my GE classes with pre reqs for nursing. At times I feel like giving up but people like you inspire me to keep going and to never give up no matter how long it takes me to achieve what I want to be. Thank you so much !
