On my first visit to the US I ordered French fries at a McDonalds at SF airport. But I said "Pomm Fritz" (pommes frites) as they are called in German. The waiter did'nt understand of course. Then some German behind me in the queue said "Die heißen hier "French fries" ("they are called french fries over here"). That was kind of humiliating. 😂
