Israel strikes airport in Yemen as WHO chief tries to board plane | VOA News

The Israeli military released footage on Thursday it said showed fighter jets taking off ahead of strikes against Houthi rebel targets in Yemen.

World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said airstrikes hit Yemen's international airport in the capital, Sanaa, Thursday just as he was about to board a flight there.

The United Nations says at least three people were reportedly killed and dozens injured in the Israeli attack.

A high-level U.N. delegation led by the WHO chief was at the airport on Thursday waiting to depart when the airstrikes took place, and a U.N. Humanitarian Air Service crew member was among the injured, U.N. associate spokesperson Stephanie Tremblay said.

After the awful performance of WHO during the COVID pandemic in early 2020…I for one cannot think of a good reason I should care about any WHO personnel. Had they taken action in early 2020 there would be millions of people still living today. Don’t care what happens to them.
