LMAO FAM 😂😂😂😂 I have blue eyes and currently pale skin (5 years of being bedridden because of a disease that also makes you pale. Yaaayyyy....), but when it put in my brown contacts or have darker skin, people think I'm Hispanic. I'm not offended, love Hispanics, but I'll never forget them older, Hispanic gentleman who wandered into the retail store I was working in at the mall. He started speaking Spanish to me, and I said I was sorry, I didn't speak Spanish. He studied me SO HARD like he was an archeologist trying to decipher newfound cave carvings, then asked quietly "You no Mexican?" I said no, I'm half German, half Native American, and oh my god. The studying just got more intense and - I swear to God, he then asked, "....you sure?"
He never made me feel uncomfortable, and he was very polite, and the absolute uncertainty that this man had about my genetics was honestly hilarious, but I couldn't laugh because I didn't want to hurt him, but I said yes, I was sure, and told him the two tribes I came from, and how it was common for those two tribes to marry one from the other, and my grandparents were one and the other was the other.

He nodded thoughtfully, patted my shoulder with a kind smile (ngl I wanted to hug this man and ask him to be my abuelo/tio, as his age was ambiguous between the two), said I looked so Mexican he almost couldn't believe his eyes, but "happy I met a Native, you're good people", wished me well, and I patted his shoulder back and wished him well and a thanks, and off he wandered out. 😂😂😂😂

Needless to say, I get a RANGE of reactions. 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm not indigenous but I've made friends with the murder of crows that live in a nearby tree.
I provide them with bird seed and water, and they're kind enough to not poop on my deck/porch/truck.
