Don't Drive!, Use you bike with the burley travoy

I definately think with this burley travoy i will be using my bike MUCH more this season. Its a great city trailer/carrier for short or long distance commutes. check it out.

I have this trailer/dolly and I love it and highly recommend it. It has been with me to Costco, (you know how big Costco packages are). I am a musician, so take my bass and mic stand, cables and drum machine to my gig in this trailer in Los Angeles on a 11 mile commute (22 total). The reason why I like this design is because I can use my lighter weight road bike with it, also when I get to my gig, I lock my bike in front of the place and walk in with a dolly. I even took a 36lbs pound speaker with a 3 lbs. micro bass amp from Torrance to Hermosa Beach (about 6 miles each way), it was a little hard going uphill, but I made it both ways. I did not buy the extra bag, I just use the one it brought, strap stuff to the trailer and go. It does not rain so much in California, so it is perfect; all you need to do if it rains is put a big trash bag over your stuff and you will be ok. I am planning a bike packing trip with tarp/hammock and cooking gear and take this trailer, with a handlebar bag and a small back pack, I think you could have everything you need for weeks.

I've had my Travoy since December 2011 and find it very useful. I have had it "capsize" on me a few times, though. I live in Las Vegas and we have ceramic bumpers in the streets to designate lanes. A couple of times one of the trailer wheels has hit one or two and started the trailer rocking to the point of flipping. I've since learned to slow down in those situations. To Burley's credit, the plastic part of the hitch is just fine after such extreme twisting.

I've been using this daily for 2 years. I would buy another one again in a heartbeat. It has a few issues over time given the weight I carry, approx 40lbs, but nothing too crazy. I use the setup as seen.

I’ve had mine for about three months . Use it all the time . Handles great . I have it hooked to a trek 4300 . Worth the 225.00 .

Its working great, just fyi the more weight you put on and the more bumpy the roads are you fill feel it going over those bumps but thats to be expeted great tool so far wish it was less expensive buy the versatility makes up for it.

Looks like it’s not possible to wheelie the bike on its rear wheel (for elevators and stuff) with the Travoy attached because of the rubber Burley attachment hitch. Correct?

P.S. I wonder if the 16” and 20” push button Burley wheels work with this.

I've read in a comment that the trailer will easily tip while traveling
fast over small bumpy terrain. Most videos of this trailer shows the
rider moving much more slowly than normal bike speeds of around 15 mph.
The guy said that small bumps, potholes and getting from the street to the sidewalk
will easily tip it over. I want to see what this looks like before buying as I
travel with an electric bike at speeds 15+ and my city is full of
potholes. What happens when it tips over? Does it stay connected or does it disconnect?

just curious about the wheels.  Since they snap on and off so easily what keeps them on if you go over big bumps.  Looks as if they would easily be bumped off.  Since it's been at least 2 years now since this review have you ever had a problem with the wheels? also how have the plastic parts held up?

Just ordered one in the netherlands. Problem is that you can't test it or it works with your bike. As far as I see, you can only buy it by internet. We will use it for shopping and also for the transport of the  keeper equipment of my son. 
So we don't have to use the car three times a week bring him to training

when using on bike or ebke max speed is 15 miles an hour on smooth road 5 miles when turning. The sepnine commuter trailer trolly like the burley is $149.00 at Walmart and Amazon! check out before buying the burley!
